Christmas Around the World

My work locally promoted Christmas Around the World this month.  We bought tickets to take a tour where this lady, who had done this for years, temporarily set up a plethora of displays utilizing the entire second floor of a furniture store.  The tour was short, which is great and she allowed us to take pictures while she gave us a lot of historical and cultural information.  These were all taken by my Blackberry so focus and lighting were difficult to handle which is why none of these are enlarged.

Star Wars Nutcrackers

Superman, Woody, M&M, Jack Sparrow & Pirates

Multiple countries on every continent were represented but one can only take so many pictures in a short amount of time.  So here's just a handful of the ones I liked that turned out pretty well.  The following are different styles of Nativity scenes and Christmas ornaments:

Antique collection of Bibles within the United Kingdom section.

A large model ship sitting on a sofa table.

Holland

Tibet

I loved the color of the wood this nativity is carved from.

Nativity in "Peanuts"

Considering that both of my parents are from the Philippines, naturally I had to "docu-graph" my heritage.

The Nativity is made of banana fibers.  It's completely woven together.

There is a pink umbrella on top of the tree.

Turkey

This is Noah's Ark representing the theory of the Ark landing in Turkey.

Czech Republic

Even though we all come different walks of life and from different religions, it's great to know that the true meaning of Christmas is celebrated around the world.  Merry Christmas to you all!!
